What this tool does

Switch text between eleven styles in one click: UPPER CASE, lower case, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE, dot.case and aLtErNaTiNg. Writers use it to fix headings and accidental caps lock; developers use it to rename variables, database columns, CSS classes, environment variables and URL slugs.

Programming cases are smart about word boundaries. 'XMLHttpRequest' becomes xml_http_request, 'some-variable name' becomes someVariableName, and punctuation is treated as a separator. Line breaks are preserved, so you can convert a whole list of identifiers at once, one per line, and each line is converted independently.

Casing follows Unicode rules. Accented letters, Greek, Cyrillic and 'ß' work as expected, and you can pick a language such as Turkish or Azerbaijani so that i/İ and ı/I are handled correctly, which plain toUpperCase gets wrong. Conversion happens locally and instantly.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste or type your text (or press Example).
  2. 2Click a case style; the result updates immediately.
  3. 3If you write Turkish, Azerbaijani or Lithuanian, choose the language for correct i and I handling.
  4. 4Copy the output or download it, or press Use as input to chain another conversion.

Supported formats

Plain text in any language that has letter case. Scripts without case (such as Chinese or Thai) pass through unchanged for UPPER/lower.

Limitations

  • Title Case capitalises every word by default; the optional 'keep small words lowercase' rule follows a common English style and is not a full style-guide implementation.
  • Sentence case does not know proper nouns or acronyms, so names are lowercased and need manual fixing.
  • Programming cases remove punctuation and apostrophes, and split between letters and a following capital letter; digits stay attached to the preceding word.
  • Some conversions change length (for example German ß becomes SS), and are not reversible.

FAQ

Why is there a language option?

In Turkish and Azerbaijani, uppercase i is İ and lowercase I is ı. Without the language setting, 'istanbul' becomes ISTANBUL instead of İSTANBUL. Lithuanian has similar rules for accents on i.

Are line breaks kept?

Yes. Each line is converted separately, so a list of identifiers stays a list, and blank lines remain.

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (myVariable); PascalCase starts with a capital (MyVariable). Both remove spaces and punctuation.

Does it handle emoji and non-Latin text?

Yes. Characters without a case are left alone and emoji are preserved.
